Waley is a NY-based ad / video director with a sense of humor inherited from his delightfully weird Chinese immigrant parents. He’s directed for a Phoebe Bridgers-produced album, Iberia Airlines, various fashion / beauty films, and an autobiographical music video short film for TikTok-viral indie rock artist The Black Skirts (검정치마).

He loves exploring a character’s key memories and fantasies to discover what makes them tick, quirky comedy even in serious situations, simple & direct narratives, stylized visuals with story purpose, and fashionable cool that’s driven with heart.

In his free time, he likes to read, go to the movies alone, and practice silly goosery.
