Music Video // Short Film // Runtime: 2m17s
A rap video about toxic post-breakup obsessions to promote healing from the darkness. I was creatively captivated by Unghetto cleverly balancing both sides of the story between two exes at each others throats and projecting the same fantasy of traveling the world with a submissive rebound to spite the other. He has you in the first half playing out his toxic fantasy before featured artist Kaelyn comes in to develop their narrative of self-awareness and communication. Feels like an elevated spin of a diss track. Unghetto’s final creative calls on my treatment produced the best idea by incorporating pieces of an alternate idea and fleshing it out into the ending to bookend the piece, truly making this a fulfilling collaboration with an artist who had a lot to express.
